THE MENTOR is designed as a tribute to the classic Pantos shape. Pantos comes from “pantoscopic” which means “wide view” or “seeing everything”. Just like the mentor who, thanks to his experience, has a comprehensive view of the bigger picture.

Originally a favorite among intellectuals, this frame’s rounded lenses and high temples had a breakthrough in pop culture and are a staple in eyewear fashion to this day. When designing THE MENTOR, PORTRAIT envisioned a model with an easily readable contemporary taste, without losing the original feel of the classic shape from the 1950s. With its classic look, this model is the natural heir to THE CREATOR but with an updated and more sturdy feel thanks to the implementation of a higher amount of acetate.
